How to Find Where to Watch Any Movie or TV Show Legally

Learn how to find where any movie or TV show is streaming, for rent or for sale in your region, and how to stay on the legal side of streaming.

Still from Spider-Man: Brand New Day

You have found a movie or series you want to see, and now you need to know where it is actually playing. With dozens of services and different libraries in every country, that question is harder than it sounds. This guide shows a fast, legal way to find the answer for any title.

Start with the title page

Every movie and series page on MyFlixer has a Where to watch section. It lists the services that stream the title, rent it, or sell it, shown as logos you can click. Open any title, such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and scroll to that section to see the current options.

Each title page lists streaming, rental and purchase options.

Know the difference between stream, rent and buy

  • Stream means the title is included with a subscription service, so you can watch it at no extra cost if you already subscribe.
  • Rent means you pay a smaller fee for temporary access to a single title.
  • Buy means you pay once and keep the title in your digital library.

If a title appears under Stream on a service you already pay for, that is the cheapest route. If it only appears under Rent or Buy, compare prices on the services listed before you pay.

Check your region

Streaming rights are sold country by country, so a title available in one place may be missing in another. When a title page has listings for more than one country, use the region menu to switch between them and see what applies to you.

Why a title might be missing

  • It is new in theaters. Films currently on the big screen usually reach digital services later. Browse what is playing now on our newest movies page.
  • Licensing windows. Services license titles for limited periods, so catalogues change.
  • Regional limits. A title may be licensed in some countries and not others.

If nothing is listed, check back later, since new listings appear as services add titles.

Stay on the legal side

Unofficial streaming and download sites are tempting, but they are a poor trade. They pay nothing to the people who made the film, often bury visitors in intrusive ads, and are a common route for malware. Official services give you reliable quality, subtitles and support.

Look for free options

Several services offer free, ad-supported libraries, and many public libraries provide free streaming apps with a library card. When a free service carries a title, it will show up in the listings on the title page.
